About me
Brian Norderud, B.S. is a GIS Analyst within the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services. He has worked at the state level for 10 years. In his current role he helps coordinate GIS activities throughout DPHHS and his primary research interests are using python scripting to automate routine workflows, utilizing spatial analysis to show disparities in population health, and performing other scientific analysis to look at population access to health care. His work is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention with an emphasis on mapping that highlights the burden of chronic disease like diabetes, heart disease, and stroke. His work is used to show areas where additional resources and lifestyle interventions are needed to support healthy living. Brian offers support and is an active participant within the Office of American Indian Health.
